Binocular vision may be impacted by the visual correction, which is acknowledged more and more today by optometrists focusing on this topic. One reason is the increased visual demand of modern working places. On the other hand stress, eye fatigue, irritated eyes, fluctuating vision or headache can be a result of binocular vision issues, which often have their origin in incorrect spectacle lens centration, not fine-tuned lens power of right and left eye or just by an inadequate spectacle lens type for the user.
Binocular distance and near test methods will be explained in this workshop. Different separation methods including anaglyphic, Maddox or polarization method are going to be used in the practical part of the workshop. The attendance at this workshop requires basic knowledge in monocular correction. The number of participants is limited. This course presents a practical, clinical approach to evaluating and treating the distance vision of visually impaired individuals and for prescribing bioptic telescopes. Methods for fitting and training patients for using bioptics and practice management tips are also included.
It is hoped that the attendee will leave with practical knowledge that they can apply with their next low vision patient. Modern society increasingly relies on visual interaction with computers and mobile devices.

The visual demands that these systems place on accommodation and convergence often result in blurred vision, eye strain, and other symptoms associated with digital eye strain or computer vision syndrome CVS , even before the full onset of presbyopia. Computer and digital devices use have been associated also with both a reduced rate of blinking and a high number of incomplete blinks when compared with viewing hard copy materials with an increase of dry eye symptoms.
The aim of the workshop is to provide participants with the necessary elements to understand the causes that may underlie CVS and digital eye strain and the examination protocol necessary to determine the corrective system or the most appropriate treatment. The focus of the treatment strategies will be related to contact lens with afocal and multifocal designs realized in different materials.
How you can be more successful with RGP lenses? Everybody knows the arguments for them: They make the better visual acuity; they have the lower risk of allergies and infection. They are healthier, they are more cheaper — and they are better. If not, that would be the higher perceivability — the higher feeling in the first moment.
However, you can do something against that. In this workshop tips and tricks will be revealed, how they can be successful in their practice and the Internet sales cannot harm them.

They just have to be there. Many patients in optometry practice suffer from unclear headaches, blurry vision or diplopia. Often the origin of these problems is not in refraction but in fusion. In our workshop, we mention basic knowledge about the simple binocular vision and fusion.
After that, we introduce basic techniques for training fusion. At the end of the workshop participants will try these techniques and will train their fusion. How can you still get satisfied soft lens customers and keep them in the system today? Despite unit parameters, despite the Internet and despite the problems with the dry eye. This workshop will show ways how to cope with the usual problems of the soft-lens wearers and how to succeed in having satisfied customers for years to come.
The idea behind this workshop is to help all attendants design a home-based VT program without the need for fancy and expensive equipment. The workshop will be divided into two parts, theoretical and practical part. In the first part, attendants will be introduced into home-based VT exercises through a case report.

We will follow a patient that already had a date set for surgery without any kind of Vision Therapy program being introduced to him other than penalization. In the second part the lecture will become interactive as all attendants will have the opportunity to try previously explained exercises on themselves. Many white findings in the retina are hard to analyze and define. In an interactive workshop the participants will learn, how Scanning Laser Technology with IR nm and Green nm laser helps to make the right decision.
The two laser show different layers of the retina and present sharp images. Knowing the anatomy of the retina the participants will be able to describe where the finding is, and what it looks like. They will learn about differential diagnoses and get hints and help on how to decide about their accurate decision. What is the characteristic of a choroidal nevus compared to soft drusen? How can you distinguish between cotton wool spots and myelinated nerve fibers?
These and many more examples of white findings in the retina will be discussed.

After talking about the finding and its origin, we will then discuss further recommendations and conclusions for the participants as Optometrists. Does the customer have to see an Ophthalmologist — and if so: how quick do you have to refer your customer? How to adapt quickly and safely to the correct Ortho-Keratology lens? Lists and form papers are out and calculating and simulating the right contact lens has become relatively easy, with the support of computer software.
However, it gets interesting, if the customer starts with it and if not everything is as great as expected. So what? This workshop will focus on the fitting methods and the troubleshooting so that you can quickly get a good result. Especially with the myopia control, it is important to learn the right way to deal with the children, so that they are motivated to really wear this type of contact lenses. In this workshop, you will be introduced to the principles of fundus camera image interpretation of normal and abnormal eyes.
You will learn common signs and variants of the normal and abnormal fundus as well as common techniques and abbreviations for the corresponding record keeping. In the hands-on part, a series of fundus images with normal or abnormal conditions will be shown for discussion and exercise.
One aspect in which the businesses are different is the capital needed to be invested into stock. Another one is the time spend to serve a customer. Next comes the repurchase frequency, the add on sales, the customer loyalty etc. This presentation looks at all these aspect, some in more detail. Overall, CLs can be a good business and most likely, the combined one is the best. In the end, it does not matter how much money is made by one transaction with one customer, at one time it is about the life cycle value and the opportunity to satisfy all the vision correction solutions a patient may benefit from.

The services provided around the fitting and the after-care of contact lenses, should be properly charged for and thus enhance the CL business performance. While most healthcare providers embrace the belief that evidence-based clinical decision-making leads to better patient outcomes, many, including optometrists, provide healthcare that lags behind the current scientific literature.
Participants in this hands-on workshop will work in small groups. A specific patient scenario will be provided and each group will be asked to formulate and categorize an answerable clinical question.
Groups will then search the literature and share with the large group their search experiences. A specific article will then be provided to each group and they will work through the critical appraisal of that article. Critical appraisal results will be shared with the large group for discussion. Print this page Share on Facebook Share on Twitteru. Ove internetske stranice koriste kolačiće tzv. The third and final part is trying to reveal the mass graves which should be marked with dignity, and to identify the perpetrators of these war crimes. Even though there are no documents regarding the ultimate destiny of these hospitalized Croatian soldiers, the results from excavations and the reports from patologists from , that is the evidence recovered from the mass grave Jazovka, in Zumberak, Croatia, proves that these wounded Croatian soldiers were mass murdered at this location, together with the hosptial staff and other victims.

Demographic losses in the Second World War in former Yugoslavia: How did the communist propaganda shape politics and society? Manipulating the number of Jasenovac victims continued immediately after the end of the Second World War when Josip Broz Tito suggested that "during the four years we have lost one million and seven hundred thousand of our citizens", and it served as the most important part of exaggerating the number of the war victims in general.
He was given two weeks to calculate the total figure of all victims with the instruction that the number "must be impressive, but scientifically-statistically based". Nevertheless, the number of 1,,, that Vučković provided, "either out of ignorance or in order to deceive, the people of the regime turned demographic losses into actual victims, which were according to all investigations scientifically funded something more than a million.
